What does freedom mean to you?

Each retreat is a journey and it takes a while for our participants and our team to reflect on the experience. Some things get integrated straight away, while others take time.

Our recent retreat in the Maldives was no different, and to some degree one of the most challenging and growth stimulating experiences we could ever hope for.

The intention for this retreat was 'freedom of expression' through exploring the qualities of Vishuddha Chakra. There were many invitations to see what freedom means to us and whether there are limitations we put on ourselves that make us feel restrained, trapped or stagnant in various areas of our lives. The power of communication both inward and outwards, our ability to read the signs of the body, environment, and intuition have been tested. What do we hear when we listen? Do we put value on every word we say? Is it difficult for us to stay silent? How easy is it to express our needs, desires, wants, feelings, ideas, thoughts? Are we being clear and sincere when we talk to ourselves? All of these questions and more were floating in the Ether as we went from one practice to another.

The healing sound of the ocean was loud which made it hard to communicate at times so we chose silent guidance to the sound of the ocean and crystal bowls. We invited our participants to a thought provoking movie screening on the beach and gave everyone freedom to choose what practices to attend and what to say during and after.

Retreats is a deeply personal journey for which a teacher prepares you yet the one you must walk on your own. Authentic and clear communication with your higher self will translate into clarity and authenticity in your life. Change is rarely comfortable yet necessary for our evolution and growth. That's why usually it is good to take time after a retreat before running back to day to day life as things will keep coming up. Allowing yourself time to notice, process, let go so there will be space for new patterns to develop. Those that serve the new You.
